(MENAFN) The stock market in the United States concluded mixed on Friday, capping up a disastrous week, month, and quarter for Wall Street. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) fell 500.10 points, or 1.71 percent, to 28,725.51 as the index fell below 29,000 for the first time since November 2020.
The Nasdaq Composite Index slid 161.89 points, or 1.51 percent, to 10,575.662. The S&P 500 index fell 1.51% to 3,585.62 at the end of September trading.
Meanwhile, the Sao Paulo Bovespa index rose 2,372.44 points, or 2.20 percent, to end at 110,036.79. The Russell 2000 index fell 0.61 percent to 1,664.72 points.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's TSX COMP increased by 0.01 percent to 18,444.22, while the S&P/TSX 60 index fell by 0.15 percent.
