Turkey’s daily electricity usage drops by 5.06 percent on Oct. 1


(MENAFN) Based on the official data released on Sunday by the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS), daily electricity usage in Turkey declined by 5.06 percent on Saturday in comparison to the day before, standing at 849,432 megawatts per hours.

According to TEIAS statistics, the peak hourly power usage was 39,616 megawatts per hours at 12 p.m. regional time (0900 GMT). At 7:00 a.m. regional time, the nation's power consumption reached its lowest point of 30,063 megawatts per hours (0400 GMT).

On Saturday, 850,696 megawatts per hours of electricity were produced, which is a reduction of 3.67 percent from Friday.

Natural gas power factories comprised by 30 percent of the entire amount of electricity, while imported coal and lignite power factories constituted by 25 percent and 14.7 percent, correspondingly, of the total.

The nation's power exports on Saturday reached 9,734 megawatts per hours, while its imports came to 8,470 megawatts per hours.
