Frontier guards damage terrorist team in northwest Iran

(MENAFN) Iran’s border police commander stated his militaries are checking any movement on the other side of national frontiers, stating that a terrorist team was damaged by the border guards of the Khodaafarin frontier regiment in East Azarbaijan province, northwest Iran.

General Ahmad Ali Goodarzi broke the news while heading to the frontier units of the Khodaafrin frontier regiment on Wednesday.

“All borders of the country are under the intelligence and operational monitoring of the border guards,” Goodarzi added.

He then said that with the specialized drill and use of new tools, there is today whole security at national frontiers, mainly in the north and northwest of the nation.

On the words of the border guard commander, Iran will oppose any unlawful traffic and armed action on the frontiers of the nation.

He went on to declare border guards’ reaction to the attackers will be “harsh and brutal.”

“Recently, a seven-member terrorist team along with military equipment and quantities of weapons and ammunition was destroyed by the border guards of the Khodaafrin border regiment,” Goodarzi further noted.
