2 Dead 5 Wounded As Vehicle Overturns In Central Afghanistan

Two people were killed and five others were injured in a traffic accident after a passenger van overturned in the Waras district of the Bamyan province in central Afghanistan, said local Taliban officials.

The accident, according to the Taliban local authorities, occurred on Wednesday morning, the 28th of September, in the Waras district's village of Sultan Rabat as a result of deviating from the road.

Sayed Ali Arif, the Taliban police chief for Waras district told the media that a man and a woman were among the fatalities while five other people, including 2 children were injured.

The residents of Bamyan province's Waras district, those who were impacted by the traffic accident were transported to the Waras District Hospital, where the injured are being treated for their wounds.

Previously, 3 people were killed and 1 was wounded when a truck and a passenger car collided on the Kabul-Jalalabad highway in eastern Afghanistan.

The traffic incident took place in mid-September when a large truck ran over a passenger vehicle resulting in fatalities and injury.

Due to speeding, dangerous driving routes, negligent drivers, and an absence of traffic signals, the number of highway fatalities in Afghanistan has significantly increased every day.
