Amman, Sept. 28 (Petra)- Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nasser Shraideh called on Jordan's development partners from donors and funding institutions to maintain support to the Kingdom's efforts aimed to implement economic and development reform plans and programs in various developmental and vital sectors and development-driven projects to meet economic challenges.
Speaking at a meeting with a number of ambassadors and representatives of donor countries and funding institutions, Shraideh reviewed Jordan's various comprehensive economic, administrative and political reform programs within the framework of Economic Modernization Vision, public sector modernization map, and political modernization process as announced by the government under King Abdullah II's directives.
According to a ministry's statement Wednesday, Shraideh said Jordan is continuing its efforts in the path of economic, administrative and political modernization at begining of the Kingdom's second centennial.
The minister briefed attendees on developments aimed to outline the executive program for Economic Modernization Vision, coordinated by Ministry of Planning, referring to efforts of most sectorial teams and ministerial committees formed by Cabinet for this purpose.
The minister also highlighted the vision's importance as a roadmap for the next ten years to enable Jordan to benefit from the national economy's various existing potentials and take advantage of its competitive advantages, based on two main pillars aimed to achieve economic growth and enhance quality of life.
With regard to administrative reform, he said the government had adopted a public sector modernization roadmap aimed at improving services provided to citizens and raising efficiency of the government apparatus to reach an 'efficient and effective' public sector by modernizing and developing public administration.
The minister also referred to an executive program for the public sector modernization scheme for 2022-2025, which was prepared by a ministerial committee, chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Khasawneh and includes three axes and action tracks, namely focusing on services, institutional and legislative aspects.
