China promises to continue buying products from across world

(MENAFN) China is not intending to stop its policy of open trade, and wants to carry on buying products from across the world, as well as Russian oil and gas, TASS states on Tuesday quoting China’s Vice Commerce Minister Wang Shouwen.

“You want me to comment on several projected trends at once,” Wang noted, replying to a query from a Western reporter regarding China's plans to purchase energy from Russia and to sell its own produce to the EU and the US.

“As for China, we will carry the banner of free trade high and will firmly adhere to the policy of openness,” the top official went on to say, noting that Beijing “welcomes supplies of goods and services from other countries.”

Based on data from the General Administration of Customs, China’s expenditure on Russian energy stood at a record high of USD8.3 billion during last month, with a yearly rise of 68 percent.
