Vistara Introduces Automated Crew Rostering Solution

With the aim of improving the management of over 2,500 cabin crew and pilots across the network, Vistara has implemented a fully automated solution for preparing crew rosters. 
Adoption of the new technology aims to further improve Vistara's operational performance as well as improve the crew's lifestyle.
The solution provided by Jeppesen, a subsidiary of Boeing, allowed Vistara to develop effective crew rosters that complied with legal compliance, crew availability, lifestyle preferences, and training requirements using a dynamic bidding mechanism.
Vistara crew are now able to indicate their lifestyle preferences, which are automatically taken into account in their individual flight manifests. 
Crew now have options ranging from early morning or late evening flights, frequent layovers, time off from work, preferred overnight stops and specific flights etc., allowing them more flexibility in their schedules. 
Since implementation, the system has proven to be very effective with the majority of crew rosters being positively affected according to their indicated preferences.

The airline said it is the first Indian airline to have a 100 percent cloud-based IT infrastructure that helps manage complex operations, optimize costs and make airlines' operations dynamically scalable.
