Sheikh Al Qaradawi Buried At Mesaimeer Cemetery

Doha: Thousands of people, including citizens and expatriates, yesterday gathered at Imam Muhammad ibn Abd Al Wahhab Mosque in the funeral prayer of Islamic scholar and Founding President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) Sheikh Yusuf Al Qaradawi, who passed away at the age of 96 on Monday.

He was buried at Mesaimeer Cemetery.

Born in 1926 in Saft Turab village in the Arab Republic of Egypt's Al Gharbia Governorate, Al Qaradawi memorised the entire Quran by the time he was 10. After completing studies at Institute of Religious Studies, he joined Al Azhar University's Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion and Da'wah in Cairo.
