Outside Iran's embassy in UK, supporters of Islamic Republic clash with MKO rioters

(MENAFN) On Sunday, violent rioters gathered in front of the Islamic Center of England in north-west London were met with stiff resistance from supporters of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who joined the police in putting down the unruly demonstration.

On Sunday, a crowd of demonstrators affiliated with the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MK0), an anti-Iran terrorist group, gathered in Maida Vale, throwing stones at police and breaking the center's windows.

One of the rioters scaled the roof of the center but was stopped by police officers before he could vandalize the property.

According to reports, at least five people were detained earlier in the day for engaging in "aggressive activities" in response to violent protests in front of the Iranian embassy in London.

This happened after hundreds of rowdy protesters battled with riot police in London on September 16 after the murder of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian woman, in police custody.

The rioters reportedly threw stones at police and vandalized the Iranian diplomatic post in the nation.
