Russia school shooting leaves 13 people dead, 21 injured


(MENAFN) In a school in central Russia on Monday, a shooter murdered 13, including seven children, and injured another 21, according to police.

According to Russia's Investigative Committee, the shooting happened in a school in Izhevsk, a city located in the Udmurtia region some 960 kilometers (600 miles) east of Moscow. According to the Committee, there were 14 youngsters and 7 adults injured. The attacker "committed suicide," it was said.

Investigators claimed that the man had no identification on him and “he was wearing a black top with Nazi symbols and a balaclava.” Investigators also mentioned, “his identity is currently being established.”

Based on the interior ministry of Russia, the incident left over 20 people hurt. Alexander Brechalov, the governor of the area, acknowledged "casualties and wounded among children" in a video address outside Izhevsk's school No. 88.

In the backdrop, rescue and medical personnel could be seen at the site, some of them were carrying stretchers as they ran into the school.
