(MENAFN) Saudi Power Procurement Co. has started five ventures to generated electricity via renewable energy, with an overall volume of 3,300 megawatts, as shown by the Saudi Press Agency.
The innovation contains three wind energy ventures in addition to two solar ventures, however, the wind energy ventures, sited in Yanbu, Al-Ghat and Waad Al Shamal have an overall generation volume of 1800 MW, with 700 MW, 600MW and 500 MW delivered individually.
The overall volume of generation from the two solar energy ventures totals 1500 MW. The ventures are located in Al Hinakiyah and Tabarjal and have volumes of 1100 MW and 400 MW individually.
The launch of the ventures is part of the fourth stage of the Ministry of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Program.
Along with Saudi Vision 2030, the plan is part of the nation’s targets to hit the top energy mix for electricity generation from renewable energy sources.
