Norway underlines fast revitalization of JCPOA


(MENAFN) Norwegian Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian held talks in New York on the sidelines of the yearly United Nations General Assembly.

Both foreign ministers discussed the latest improvements in two-sided ties in addition to as well as local and global developments.

In the conference, the Iranian foreign minister said Tehran’s willingness to rise contacts and draw a strategy for deepening collaboration.

Amir Abdollahian also underlined the need to use the existing and diverse capacities of the two nations.

Elsewhere in the conference, both top diplomats exchanged views over the current meetings to revitalize the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in Vienna.

Amir Abdollahian clarified Iran’s positions, stating if the United States has the necessary will, a deal is still existing.

Iran’s top diplomat also said, “The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) should act based on its duties and technical responsibilities and distance itself from the political and dual approach regarding Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.”
