New York holds trilateral meeting between foreign ministers of Astana nations

(MENAFN) A 3-sided gathering was hosted on Wednesday among foreign ministers of the nations that are parties to the Astana process on the improvements in Syria.

The gathering occurred on the offshoots of the 77th United Nations General Assembly conference in New York.

The gathering, which was joined by the foreign ministers of Iran, Russia and Turkey in addition to UN Special Ambassador for Syria Geir O. Pedersen, the members studied the most recent improvements plus political and humanitarian enterprises in Syria.

At the gathering, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian stated that Tehran considers, just like they always been, that the Syrian disaster has no military answer.

The catastrophe can be solved via a political procedure and in keeping with the principles of global law, he noted.

Adding that between the key basics for reaching that target are an end to interference and a departure of the foreign militaries unlawfully existing in Syria and respect for the Arab nation’s authority and regional integrity.
