Doha: Lebanese driver Mansour Chebli won Open Class 1 in his Renault Clio as the third round of the 2022 Qatar National Sprint concluded with a huge success, on Friday.
At the Lusail Circuit Sports Club Main Gate Parking Area, Chebli clocked the best lap time of the event in his first attempt before skipping the next two runs.
Qatar's Nadim Ziade, also driving a Renault Clio, came second in 1:13.487. Chebli's fellow countryman Jad Alawar completed the podium in 1:27.487. Alawar also won the Open Class 2 in an Evo 8 (1:05.672) while Abdulla Al Ghedaid of Qatar won the Open Class 3 in 1:10.545.

Earlier, in the Production Class 1, Ziade (Renault Clio RS) clinched the victory with a laptime of 1:06.925 while Chebli came second (1:07.072). Qatar's Bassam Chebli finished third with a time of 1:09.382.
Qatari driver Maher Serre (Porsche Cayman GTS) and Francesco Fornaciari (Lotus Exige) won the Production Classes 2 and 3 respectively to maintain their leads in the points table of the Championship, organised by the Qatar Motor & Motorcycle Federation.
The next round will take place on September 30.
