Iran, Azerbaijan start building of bridge over Aras
(MENAFN) Iran and Azerbaijan officially started the building of a freeway bridge across the Aras River at the two nations’ border in the Aghbend area, the porta of Iran’s Transport as well as Urban Development Ministry mentioned in a report.
Iranian Minister of Transport and Urban Development Rostam Qasemi and Deputy Premier of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev hosted the formal ceremony through video meeting hosted in the capital city of Iran on Wednesday.
The bridge is going to be built under the outline of a deal for constructing a road connection among Nackchivan and Azerbaijan via Iran's territory that was inked throughout the 15th Iran, Azerbaijan joint Economic Committee conference.
The venture is going to create Azerbaijan-Iran-Nakhchivan Corridor by connecting East Zangezur District in Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan via Iran's territory.
The building of this bridge is going to grow mutual ties and freight exchange among Iran and Azerbaijan as well as in the area.
