The US Newly Appointed Remote Charge D'affaires Resumes Office

The United States announced the Karen Decker, the newly appointed Charge D'affaires for Afghanistan resumed office and will be working from Doha, Qatar.

Karen Decker is a foreign service office who has previously served as a Deputy Ambassador in Afghanistan between the years of 2018 and 2020.

The news about Keren's office resumption was announced on the the US Embassy's Facebook page on Saturday.

The United States closed its Embassy and Diplomatic Missions from Afghanistan after its military's withdrawal from Afghanistan last year. The U.S Mission in Afghanistan is now operating from Doha Qatar in a much smaller unit.

This comes a the United States of America shut down its Embassy and Diplomatic Missions in Afghanistan last year after withdrawing it's military forces.
