KABUL (Pajhwok): A man carrying precious stones worth $115,000 has been arrested by security forces in Kabul, the Ministry of Interior said on Friday.
The man was arrested in the 6th security district of Kabul city for smuggling 10.5 kilograms of precious stones, MoI Department of Combating Corruption and Serious Crimes said in a statement.
The detainee, a resident of Daikundi province, was arrested in Haji Nabi town. He wanted to sell the precious stones to someone for 115,000 US dollars.
The arrested person had brought the stones from Takhar province to Kabul and was under the surveillance of detectives for a long time, the statement concluded.
