Srinagar- A soldier on Thursday allegedly committed suicide in South Kashmir's Anantnag district.
The soldier, whose name could not be ascertained, shot himself dead with his service rifle at the High Ground area in Anantnag on Thursday evening, reports said. The soldier was associated with the army's 1 Rashtriya Rifles.
“The reason behind the soldier taking the extreme could not be immediately known”, officials told a local news agency GNS
Meanwhile, police have registered a case and started further investigation in this regard.
