Arab and international media paid attention to the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's speech at the opening of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), held Tuesday in New York, highlighting the regional and international issues included in H H the Amir's speech, Qatar's adherence on the justice of the Palestinian cause, and Qatar's welcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 fans without discrimination.

Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) highlighted H H the Amir's welcoming to the whole world during November as Qatar will open its doors for all without discrimination to enjoy the football matches and the amazing atmosphere of the tournament. The Qatari people will receive with open arms football fans from all walks of life.

KUNA pointed out to H H the Amir's call for a cease-fire between Russia and Ukraine and the immediate pursuit of a peaceful solution to the conflict. This is how the matter would eventually end anyway, no matter how long the war lasts. The continuation of the war would not change this result, but would rather increase the number of victims, and double its severe consequences for Europe, Russia, and the global economy in general.

Al Sharq News TV website quoted His Highness saying that the settler-occupation has pursued a fait accompli policy and His Highness warning that this may change the rules of the conflict as well as the global solidarity configuration in the future.

The website highlighted His Highness reiterating Qatar's full solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian people in their aspiration for justice and the need for the Security Council to assume its responsibility by compelling Israel to end the Palestinian territories' occupation and establish a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

For its part, Turkey's Anadolu Agency said that the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani criticized the Israeli settler-occupation and the inability of the international community in Syria, quoting His Highness saying that the attending countries need to be reminded that the Palestinian cause is still unresolved.

The Lebanese newspaper Al Modon considered that H H the Amir's speech at the opening of the 77th session of the UNGA carried clear positions on the most prominent Arab, regional, and international thorny issues, especially concerning the Israeli occupation of Palestine or about the failure of the Syrian people and the inability of the international community to hold the war criminals in Syria accountable for what they had perpetrated, and the necessity of reaching a just agreement on the Iranian nuclear program.

Al Modon also quoted His Highness saying the settler-occupation has pursued a fait accompli policy, and this may change the rules of the conflict and His Highness reiterating full solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian people in their aspiration for justice.

The London-based Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper stated that His Highness has reiterated in his address to UN General Assembly his country's full solidarity with the Palestinian people in their aspirations for justice and the need for the UN Security Council to uphold its responsibility to compel Israel to end the occupation of the Palestinian territories and establish a Palestinian state on the borders of 1967 with east Jerusalem as its capital.

The newspaper added that H H the Amir criticized the international policy, which he said, is managed by the logic of countries with varying capabilities, interests and priorities, and not with the logic of a unified world and humanity, pointing out that the global crises are still managed by the perspective of narrow short-term interests and not based on UN charter and respect for the countries' sovereignties, which highlight the significance of wisdom and mentality in the behavior of leaders and the adherence to justice and fairness in relations between countries.

Russian RT television network focused on the speech of HH the Amir pertaining to his confirmation of the need for the UN Security Council to abide by its obligation in compelling Israel to end the occupation of the Palestinian territories and His Highness' solidarity with the Palestinian people in their aspirations to justice.

Russian Sputnik news agency was also interested in the speech of HH the Amir, and under the title,“Amir of Qatar:“Some seek to turn the page on the Syrians' tragedy without a quid pro quo or accountability for war criminals.” The agency noted H H the Amir's reference to the international community's inability to hold war criminals accountable for the crimes perpetrated by their hands in Syria with some seeking to turn the page on the tragedy of the Syrian people without a quid pro quo while ignoring the great sacrifices made by this afflicted people without a solution to achieve their aspirations, the unity of Syria and its peace and stability.

Under the title“Amir of Qatar: prior to the launch of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022: our country will prove that it is capable of hosting global events with exceptional success,” CNN Arabic stated that HH the Amir said that the State of Qatar will prove to the whole world that it is capable of hosting global events with an exceptional success when the Qatari capital Doha hosts FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which is scheduled to be held in November and December 2022.

CNN Arabic pointed out that H H the Amir of Qatar said in his speech before the world leaders in the 77th session of UNGA,“Qatar will welcome the world in November of this year when we host the FIFA World Cup 2022. The challenge we took up twelve years ago required real resolve, determination, a lot of planning and hard work.” The US-based Alhurra TV channel said that the Amir of Qatar pledged before the UNGA to welcome all World Cup fans without discrimination.

Alhurra quoted H H the Amir as saying,“In this tournament, which will be held for the first time in an Arab Muslim country, and for the first time in the Middle East in general, the world will see that one of the small and medium-size countries is able to host global events with exceptional and impressive success, in addition to its ability to provide a spacious ambience for diversity and constructive interaction between peoples.”

The London-based Asharq Al-Awsat wrote under the title“Amir of Qatar: We opening our doors for the world without discrimination by hosting FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022,” that the Amir confirmed that Qatar is opening its doors for the world without discrimination when it hosts FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 starting from Nov. 20, 2022.
