Safadi Holds Talks With Foreign Ministers In New York

New York, Sep19 (Petra)-- Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, on Monday held series of meetings his counterparts participating in the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Safadi and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani the continuous joint work to develop mutual ties, regional issues and efforts to enhance joint Arab action to face regional challenges and serve Arab issues and interests, a foreign ministry statement said.
Safadi also met with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein and French counterpart Catherine Colonna, on ways to enhance joint cooperation, efforts to resolve regional crises, follow-up on the Baghdad Conference on Cooperation and Partnership, and prepare for the second meeting, scheduled to be held in Amman.
Safadi and Colonna discussed in a separate meeting the outcomes of the summit meeting that brought together His Majesty King Abdullah and French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris last week, stressing the importance of working on implementing and following up on the summit's outcomes.
According to the statement, Safadi also met his Greek counterpart, Nikos Dendias. The two ministers discussed opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation in various fields, and within the trilateral cooperation mechanism with Cyprus, and within the partnership with the European Union.
Safadi also discussed with North Macedonian counterpart, Bujar Osmani, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, and the ongoing preparations for holding the Mediterranean Conference of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe scheduled to be held in the Kingdom in October, where North Macedonia is currently chairing the Mediterranean Partners Group in the organization.
The foreign minister participated in the meeting held by the World Economic Forum on security, sustainability, cooperation and peace, to discuss ways to confront a number of global challenges and coordinate relevant international efforts, and sustainable development.
Yesterday, Safadi participated in the seventeenth annual ministerial meeting of the International Peace Institute, at a joint invitation of the United Arab Emirates and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and HH Prince Zeid bin Raad, President of the Institute.
