Doha: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) on Sunday launched its Twitter and Instagram accounts in French and Spanish to enhance digital communication and introduce the activities and values of the ministry in both languages.
The accounts deal with the latest diplomatic developments, Qatar's positions on various regional and international developments, and the activities of MoFA officials.
The French account can be visited and followed on Twitter at MofaQatar_FR and on Instagram at mofa.qatar.fr, while the Spanish account is available on Twitter at MofaQatar_ES and Instagram at mofa.qatar.es.
Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the launch of these accounts serves as new communication channels with wide segments of French and Spanish speakers, enabling speakers of these languages to follow all the ministry's activities.
Al Ansari pointed to the importance of the timing of the launch preceding the start of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, when Qatar will be at the center of the world's attention and so the Qatari media outlets and channels will capture the interest of the tournament's fans.
