Thirteen Yemeni Soldiers Killed As Houthis Continue To Breach UN Truce


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ADEN, Aug 19 (KUNA) -- Yemen's Defense Ministry Friday confirmed 13 soldiers were killed and 27 wounded following five days of UN armistice violations by Houthi militias.
The Media Center of the Yemeni Armed Forces stated that between August 14th and 18th, the militia committed 476 violations of the UN truce across six provinces.
Adding the Houthi group infiltrated military sites in Marib and the western coast with the use of Katyusha rockets, artillery, various bullets, snipers and booby-trapped drones.
The violations also included targeting sites and trenches, mobilization of reinforcements, and deployment of reconnaissance drones on various fronts.
Since the UN's announcement of the second extension of the armistice on August 2nd, violations have amounted to 1,563 resulting in the death of 26 government soldiers and 98 injuries. (end)
