Indian Schools, Organisations Celebrate Independence Day

Indian schools and organisations in Qatar celebrated the 76th Independence Day of India on a grand scale. At Noble International School, chairman Hussain Muhammed and treasurer Showkat Ali Taj hoisted the Indian tricolour. Secretary V C Mashood, transportation director Moidheen R S, principal Shibu Abdul Rasheed and vice principal (CCA) Shihabudeen were present. Patriotic dance and songs were among the highlights of the event.
At MES Indian School officiating president Dr Najeeb K P unfurled the flag, followed by rendering of the national anthem by the school choir.
A thematic programme titled, 'Azadi ka Amrith' depicting the elixir of energy of India's independence and inspirations of the warriors during the freedom struggle was presented by the students.
At MES Indian School (MESIS), Abu Hamour Branch, vice president Dr Najeeb K P hoisted the flag. Patriotic group dance, fancy dress showcase of prominent historic personalities, tableau and a group song were part of the event.
At Rajagiri Public School, administrative director Jinsu Aju hoisted the tricolour.
RPS staff staged a cultural programme featuring patriotic songs and group dances.
Academic director Dr Prasanth Palakkapillil delivered the Independence Day message.
At Ideal Indian School, president Dr Hassan Kunhi M P hosted the national flag in the presence of school officials, staff, students and parents. Principal Shaik Shamim Saheb also spoke.
At Birla Public School's main campus, chairman Gope Shahani and director C V Rappai, hoisted the national flag.
School officials and teachers and parents were present. Cultural activities showcased the rich culture and heritage of India through dances, speeches and songs. Head boy Vaibhav Krishna and head girl Ishita Somayaji inspired the gathering. The event was compered by student cultural secretaries Smrithi Haridasan and Sreeram Sabade,
At DPS-Modern Indian School, president Hassan Chougule unfurled the Indian tricolour. Junior school head boy Ethan Gonsalves and head girl Ayesha Falak enlightened the gathering on the core values of Indian democracy and encouraged everyone to take an active role in nation-building. Senior school head boy Vidit Dalal and head girl Tejaswi Manoj were the anchors.
At Podar Pearl School's Al Meshaf campus, president Sam Mathew, along with the directors, unfurled the Indian tricolour. Mathew read the message of the President of India. The programme was attended by students, faculty and staff.
At Loyola International School's Oasis campus, the chief guest Prasad Koduru (chairperson, advisory committee, Indian Cultural Centre) along with director (operations) Sarath Koduru, principal Promod Kumar Ranwaka and Al Nasr Branch administration manager Jayanth Lakkaraju hoisted the flag.
Students presented dances, speeches, songs and recitals and a ramp walk on the theme 'Pride of India' featuring primary students dressed as various national heroes. --
Indian Sports Centre (ISC) held a Yoga event to commemorate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, 75th Independence Day of India, at Birla Public School.
The event was in continuation of the celebration for achieving a Guinness World Record for the 'Most nationalities in a yoga lesson' by ISC along with the Indian embassy.
Indian ambassador Dr Deepak Mittal was the chief guest. Hamodi Check, head of mission at Embassy of The Central African Republic, Indian embassy defence attache and ISC co-ordinating officer Capt Mohan Atla and other dignitaries attended.
ISC president Dr Mohan Thomas welcomed the guests. Dr Mittal elaborated on the importance of a healthy lifestyle and the role of yoga as an imperative lifestyle change. An interactive yoga demonstration was carried out by Nisha Agrawal, head of yoga at ISC.

Indian Cultural Centre celebrated Indian Independence Day with a 'Mega Cultural Fiesta' at DPS Indian School Wakra in association with its associated organisations and Indian schools in the presence of a huge gathering of community members.
Indian ambassador Dr Deepak Mittal, Indian embassy counsellor (political and commerce) T Angeline Premalatha, first secretary (consular and community affairs) S Xavier Dhanaraj, defence attache Capt Mohan Atla, Qatari officials Maryam al-Ali and Adel Alkeldy were among the dignitaries.

At the celebration organised by Keralite expatriate forum Friends of Kozhikode, acting president Renjith Chalil hoisted the national flag. General secretary V K Puthur welcomed the gathering and Muhammadali K K V and Anwar Babu spoke. Faisal Moosa lead the oath taking ceremony. Rajshree, Siraj Chittari, Riyaz Babu, Sameer Nangichath, Sajid Bakar, Rasheed Pudukudi, Rupesh, Firoz, Ramla Muhammad Ali and Shamla Sajid were present. Treasurer Mansoor Ali delivered a vote of thanks.
