local police hands Ronaldo warning after video of him smashing supporter’s phone

(MENAFN) Authorities stated on Wednesday that Cristiano Ronaldo was handed a warning from native police after footage displayed him hitting the phone out of a supporter's hand earlier in 2022.

In line with a statement by the Merseyside Police informed by news outlets, the Portuguese legend received the cautionary after a props into footage that arose of him showing to smash an Everton supporter's phone out of his hand throughout United's lost game 1-0 Premier League to the club 4 months ago.

After what happened, Ronaldo published a public apology on his official account on Instagram.

The Manchester United legend stated that "It’s never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments such as the one we are facing. Nevertheless, we always have to be respectful, patient and set the example for all the youngsters who love the beautiful game."

Adding "I would like to apologize for my outburst and, if possible, I would like to invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair-play and sportsmanship."
