Canada sex attack court case names well-known Vatican cardinal

(MENAFN) A class action claim filed in Canada issued on Tuesday contains the name of a Vatican cardinal who is seen as a likely successor to Pontiff Francis.

Marc Ouellet, the previous archbishop of the province of Quebec, is blamed of sexual attack by a woman known only as "F."

The woman stated she was an intern when the attacks happened from 2008 to 2010 in the Quebec district.

"He grabbed me and then … his hands on my back, they went down pretty low," F informed Radio-Canada's investigative program Enquete in the spring. "Quite intrusive for, let's say for someone who is my superior, who is the archbishop of Quebec."

The permission for the class action was offered by a Canadian judge in May but it was not filed till Tuesday.

F is one of over 100 victims who say to have been sexually attacked by 88 priests and staff members of the Quebec district 82 years ago.
