China calls for involvement with Taliban

(MENAFN) China on Monday repeated its demands for the world to involve with the Taliban, Afghanistan's actual rulers, one year following the group's occupation of Kabul.

The Taliban's takeover of power following nearly 2 decades surprised the worldwide community years and caused a confused departure of US-led forces from Afghanistan.

China's UN representative Zhang Jun informed journalists in New York that it was vital to involve with the new government to guide them and offer them confidence therefore that they can progress.

As China has not accepted the Taliban as Afghanistan’s real administration, it has diplomatic relations with the group.

"Those who have withdrawn should also exercise their responsibilities. They cannot simply say they left and forget everything," on the words of Zhang.

He further asked to free Afghan funds, which stay frozen in the US, from the nation's central bank in the nearest time.

"There is no justification for anyone to freeze the assets that belong to Afghanistan," he added.
