During an address at the opening ceremony of the Army-2022 military meeting and an international military competition, the 2022 Army Games, Putin announced: "Our people are proud of their army and navy, the professionalism and courage of their defenders. At all times, they have reliably guarded the sovereignty and security of the Motherland, brought freedom to other peoples."

Greeting external guests, Putin said that over the years, the Army meeting has proved its importance and took its place among the world's biggest military shows.

He as well showed gratitude to the Russian arms creators, stating the new arms "are working for the victory and technological and industrial development" of Russia, and are valued for their "reliability, quality, and high efficiency," and also said that the military meeting gives a good chance to discover some of the advanced models.
