(MENAFN) A Maltese-flagged vessel transporting 13,000 tons of corn reached at a port in Italy, according to local media report that was issued on Saturday.

The vessel Rojen stopped at the Port of Ravenna on the North Adriatic Sea late Friday after it journey began from Ukraine’s Chornomorsk on Aug. 5.

The ship is anticipated to remain offloading its load until Aug. 16, in line with Il Resto Del Carlino news website.

More vessels delivering soybeans as well as crude sunflower oil from Ukraine are projected to reach Italy in the approaching days.

The vessel was the earliest to reach Italy after the grain corridor deal that was inked last month.

On July 22, Türkiye, the UN, Russia and Ukraine inked an agreement in Istanbul to resume three Ukrainian Black Sea ports – Odesa, Chornomorsk, in addition to Yuzhny – for the shipping of Ukrainian grain held because of the conflict with Russia, which broke out 6 months ago.
