Afghanistan beat Ireland by 22 runs, with Rahmanullah Gurbaz scoring a half-century.

Afghanistan beat Ireland by 22 runs on Friday in the third T20 International (T20I) to stay alive in the five-match series.

The Afghan top order fired to help the visitors post a total of 189/5.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz hit 53 off 35 deliveries, while his opening partner Hazratullah Zazai made 39(40). Ibrahim Zadran hit 36 off 22 deliveries, while Najibullah Zadran smashed 42 off 18.

In return, Ireland were down to 75/7, but George Dockrell and Fionn Hand put on a 74-run stand to keep their hopes alive.

However, they were restricted to just 167/9, with Dockrell remaining unbeaten on 58. With Ireland having won the first two matches, a win would have seen them seal the series, but Afghanistan have kept themselves in the contest for now.

Afghanistan lost two previous T20 match to Ireland.

Ireland will play the 4th T20 match on Monday against Afghanistan.
