Iranian Leader: Iran does not agree on any change to its frontier with Armenia

(MENAFN) Iranian Leader Ebrahim Raisi has reiterated Iran’s position that the Islamic Republic is not going to agree on any alteration to the geographical map of the Caucasus area.

Raisi commented in a telephone call with Armenian Premier Nikol Pashinyan late on Wednesday.

Referring to the declaration of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in his separate conferences with Russian and Turkish leaders in Tehran on July 19 in which he stated Iran will not “tolerate” any variation in its geographical frontiers with Armenia, Raisi added, “Iran will not accept any change to the political geography of the region.”

He went on to say Iran is set to use all its influence to find peace and constancy in the Caucasus.
For his part, Pashinyan issued a detailed white paper regarding the latest fights between Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
