Turkey’s unemployment level drops to 10.3 percent in June

(MENAFN) Türkiye's unemployment level dropped to 10.3 percent two months ago, dropping 0.3 percentage points from a month ago, as shown by the nations statistical authority on Wednesday.

The figures of jobless people – with the age 15 and over – declined by 136,000 monthly to almost 3.5 million two months, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) stated in an announcement.

The unemployment level stood 8.5 percent for men, as well as 13.8 percent for women.

TurkStat stated the figures of employed people was declined to 30.8 million two months ago, a decrease of 46,000 from the month before, whereas the employment level reached 47.8 percent with a 0.1 percentage point decline.

The employment level stood at 65.3 percent for men, 30.6 percent for women.

The labor force declined by 182,000 to 34.4 million throughout the same month, and the labor force participation rate reached 53.2 percent with a 0.4 percentage point decline.

The youth unemployment level in the 15-24 age group was 20.4 percent, without any deference in comparison with the prior month, the number reached 16.3 percent for men, and 27.9 percent for women.
