Iran’s shipment to U.S. surges 16 folds in January-June


(MENAFN) The worth of Iran’s shipment to the United States surged by 16 folds in the first six months of this year from the same period of last year.

As shown by the data issued by the United States Census Bureau, the U.S. imported goods valued at USD5 million from Iran in the January-June period of 2022, whereas the number stood at USD300,000 in the same half in the last year, Tasnim news agency mentioned in a report issued on Tuesday.

In line with the shown figures, the two nations exchanged USD23.8 million value of commodities in the first 6 months of 2022, increasing 18 percent from the number in the same period of last year.

The United States Census Bureau’s data indicated that the worth of U.S. shipment to Iran dropped five percent to stand at USD18.8 million in the January-June period of this year, from USD19.8 million in the same time span of 2021.

As earlier reported by this bureau, the worth of exchange among Iran and the United States stood at USD15 million in the first quarter of 2022, to record a 55 percent surge year on year.
