Qatar Stars League: Al Arabi Officially Signs Syrian Striker Omar Al Somah

DOHA: Al Arabi Qatari club announced on Tuesday that it has officially signed Syrian international striker Omar Al Somah from the Saudi club Al-Ahli, on loan, with a one-season contract, in order to join the ranks of the first football team in the QNB Stars League for the 2022-2023 season.

Al Arabi Club said on its official website: 'It has been agreed with the Saudi Al-Ahli club to loan the player Al Somah to our club for one season'. At the same time, they appreciated the good cooperation of Al-Ahli SC.

The Syrian player is the historical scorer of the Saudi Al-Ahli team, where he participated in 240 matches, scored 192 goals, and made 30 goals since he joined in the summer of 2014 from Kuwait's Qadisiya.

Al Somah, who grew up in the Syrian club Al-Fotuwa, previously played in the Kuwaiti Qadisiya between 2011 and 2014, and then left the team for Saudi Al-Ahli SC in the summer of 2014, with whom he has crowned the league title in the 2015-2016 season, and also achieved the title of top scorer of the Saudi League three times.

Al Somah is the top scorer of Al-Ahli and the Saudi Professional League with 143 goals in 179 games.

Al Somah will join Al Arabi for the first time against Al Rayyan on Thursday afternoon at the Lusail Stadium, one of the stadiums for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
