Marketing Programmes Sell 447 Tonnes Of Local Vegetables

Doha: Marketing programmes — Premium Products and Qatar Farms — run by the Ministry of Municipality at major commercial outlets sold 447 tonnes of local vegetables in July.

As many as 307 tonnes of vegetables were sold out through Qatar Farms programme. Premium Products programme contributed in selling 140 tonnes.

The programmes offer local vegetables at major shopping outlets such as Lulu Hypermarket, Carrefour, Al Meera and Family Food Centre throughout the year.

The local product marketing programmes are supervised by the Ministry of Municipality represented by the Department of Agricultural Affairs in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The programmes aim to increase the demand for locally produced vegetables.
