Qatar Museums (QM) is hosting a series of activities throughout the
month of August, inviting children and families to learn more about
Qatar's transformation, traditional weaving and the National Museum of
Qatar's (NMoQ) fascinating collection.
NMoQ: School Virtual Field Tour - Sunday and Tuesday from 9am to 12noon
(45 minutes tour) - Language: Arabic, English, French, Italian, Chinese,
Spanish, Turkish and German. School and university students in Qatar
and abroad are invited to experience NMoQ from their classrooms through
direct interaction with a museum guide on these live tours.
Schools can choose one of the following themes: Life on the Coast in
Qatar, Qatari Architecture, The Discovery of Black Gold and
transformation in Qatar, The Modern History of Qatar. For more

The Discovery of Black Gold & Transformation in Qatar: August 15 and
22 (Arabic) from 4pm to 5pm, August 17 and 24 (English) from 4pm to
5pm. Participants will learn about the discovery of oil and gas in Qatar
and its positive impact on the cultural, economic and political
transformation and development of the country.

How Big Are Your Worries Little Bear: August 20 from 5pm to 6pm -
Language: English - Through an engaging and beautifully illustrated
story, children will learn that everyday worries and fears can be
overcome. They will learn how to manage and overcome anxious thoughts as
demonstrated with the little bear and his mother who helped him

Family Saturday-Drop-In Projection - August 27 from 4pm to 6pm,
Language: English, Arabic. Experiment with mirrored light and
projections to create dream-like collages inspired by the 'Pipilotti
Rist: Your Brain to Me, My Brain to You' exhibition. Inquiries and

Mathaf: Story Time at Mathaf - August 20 from 4pm to 5pm - Language:
Arabic, English -Children aged 7 to 12 and their families are invited to
explore the connection between art and storytelling. Free to attend,
registration is required.
Mathaf Reading Club: August 27 from 4pm to 5pm - Language: Arabic,
English - Read selected artistic texts (historical, conceptual, and
visual) from the Mathaf library collection. Free to attend, registration
is required.
Dadu, Children's Museum of Qatar: Weave for Dadu at Fanar - August 8 to September 30 from 2pm to 8pm -
Learn how to weave and help build the Dadu Garden. Weave for Dadu
invites the community to produce items that are needed to grow the Dadu
Garden, while also discovering the art of traditional weaving.
Participants will start with weaving table mats and coasters, and then
move on to weaving ornaments. Weaving sessions will be hosted in the
