Elon Musk: Twitter contract might go on with 'bot' info

(MENAFN) Elon Musk stated on Saturday his planned USD44 billion takeover of Twitter have to move forward if the firm can confirm some details on how it measures if user accounts are ‘spam bots’ or real people.

The billionaire and Tesla boss has been attempting to withdraw from his April contract to acquire Twitter, leading Twitter to sue him in July to finish the purchase. Musk countersued, blaming Twitter of misleading his team on the true size of its user base and other issues he said reached fraud and breach of contract.

The two sides are headed to an October trial in a Delaware court.

“If Twitter simply provides their method of sampling 100 accounts and how they’re confirmed to be real, the deal should proceed on original terms,” Musk wrote on Twitter early Saturday.
“However, if it turns out that their SEC filings are materially false, then it should not.”
