A traffic accident in Farah province, in western Afghanistan, killed one person and injured three others, according to local Taliban officials.

The car reportedly deviated from the road and overturned on Saturday, August 6, in the provincial capital of Farah province, Farah city.

The car was a Corolla wagon-type, according to Mohammad Arif Adil, the Farah Police Office of the Taliban's spokesperson. It was traveling from Nimruz province to Farah province.

According to officials, the car's driver died in a car accident and three other people were wounded.

Nothing has been said regarding what caused this occurrence.

Recently, a rising number of fatal incidents in Afghanistan have been linked to driver negligence as a major contributing element.

Other significant causes of Afghanistan's daily traffic fatalities include drivers who disregard traffic laws, deteriorating roads, speeding, and an absence of traffic signals.
