'No fresh contact established with militants, searches on'
Srinagar- A civilian and an army soldier were injured in an encounter in Redwani area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Friday.
An official said that government after receiving information about the presence of militants launched search operation in the area.
He said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter.
He said that during the exchange of fire, one civilian and an army soldier were injured, who have rushed to the hospital for treatment, according to news agency KNO.
He further added that after initial exchange of fire, no fresh contact was established with militants, however, the searches are going on in the area.
