Doha: CEO of Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) H E Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Thani Al Thani has emphasised the importance of media as message and content, including its role in promoting and advancing the developed communities.
The QMC CEO delivered these remarks in an introductory meeting for those interested in television work under the theme of evolving media. The meeting was held under the auspices of Qatar Media Corporation, represented by the Qatar Television Corporation with the participation and attendance of a broad range of dignitaries, media professionals and youth.
Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Thani Al Thani added that the corporation is committed to innovating in media by broadcasting what caters to society's needs, and by supplementing the industry with young blood that builds on what came before them
He pointed out that the corporation seeks to maintain the sustainability of media by adopting an open-door policy for national cadres who believe in their ability to work with a high level of professionalism and become a good reflection on local and Arab media.
In his statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA), interim head of Qatar TV Ali Saleh Al Sada confirmed that there is an effective programme dedicated to attracting and selecting anchors, correspondents and programme presenters to be further tested, pointing out that more than 400 people have applied for the positions since the enrolment initiative opened last month.
He added that an effective and enriching training programme will be organised for them that essentially keeps pace with the state-of-the-art technologies utilised, including the high professional media capabilities that achieve the directives and objectives of the Qatar Media Corporation and the aspirations of the audience, since Qatar TV will undergo development in all fields in the coming period.
With regard to the preparations of Qatar TV administration to conduct media coverage of the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, he said that there will be an enjoyable coverage for this historic and exclusive tournament, pointing out that many studios will be deployed in Katara Cultural Village and across the State of Qatar, including in recreational areas and in FIFA Club World Cup Fan Zone determined by FIFA.
He asserted that the exclusive media coverages required for the promotion of events and cultural and tourist attractions landmarks in Qatar are set to commence on the first day of October, 2022, until the end of World Cup.
The event was held at the Sheraton Doha, with a host of VIPs, media personalities, and young people attending. The event included a number of activities, the most prominent of which was a panel discussion on the importance of media that featured President of the Qatar Press Center Saad bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi, and Abdullah Faraj Al Marzouqi, who overseas training programmes for young media professionals at Qatar TV.
