Training Workshop For Women's Political Empowerment Launched In Irbid

Irbid, July 28 (Petra) - The Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, in partnership with the Arab World Center for Democratic Development (UNIHRD) and the German Hans Seidel Foundation (HSF), on Thursday organized a training of trainers (TOT) course in northern Irbid governorate in an advocacy drive for women's political empowerment, with the participation of Jordanian youth leaders countrywide.
Speaking at the event, UNIHRD director, Amira Mustafa, said the four-day workshop aims to train young people from Jordan's various governorates within a project entitled: 'Yes, She Can.'
Later, she said a number of participants will be picked to attend training on specific topics for this purpose, adding that the first stage will cover southern Karak, Tafila' and Ma'an governorates.
For her part, HSF Deputy Regional Director of Amman Office, Ula Shraideh, said the project is part of a slew of plans, implemented under joint partnership between Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs and HSF, expressing hope to achieve the goals, in a manner that would benefit Jordanian society and women in particular.
