AMMAN — Health Minister Feras Al Hawari on Sunday met with the American Heart Association (AHA) delegation in the Middle East and North Africa, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

During the meeting, Hawari stressed the importance of cooperation with AHA to implement the latest empirically grounded recommendations to combat the spread of heart diseases.

In 2021, 1,200 health personnel from various governorates in the Kingdom undertook the Basic Life Support (BLS) course approved by the association, the minister noted.

He expressed the ministry's keenness to increase the number of trained medical workforce in all its hospitals during the coming period, indicating that the ministry is seeking to establish training centres for this purpose in the Kingdom's northern and southern regions.

The number of training dummies and AHA-certified trainers will also be increased, he said, adding that the Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course will be added as well.

The delegation praised the ministry's application of the latest and highest standards of training, in order to raise the quality and efficiency of its cadres' work.
