Health Minister Meets Top WHO Official

Partnership discussed for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 HE Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari met with Executive Director of the Health Emergencies Programme at the World Health Organisation (WHO) Dr Michael Ryan at the organisation's headquarters in Geneva, QNA reported.
The meeting dealt with discussing areas of co-operation between Qatar and the WHO in a number of health fields, especially the Health Emergencies Programme, and the health partnership for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022: 'Creating Legacy for Sport and Health', which aims to ensure a healthy and safe World Cup in Qatar, and represents an exceptional model for hosting major sporting events that are healthy and safe in the future.
They also reviewed health control forms during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and the policy of protection against communicable diseases, especially (Covid-19) and monkeypox.
HE Permanent Representative of Qatar to the European headquarters of the United Nations Dr Hind bint Abdul Rahman al-Muftah attended the meeting.
