Amman, July 20 (Petra)--The number of passengers traveling en route Aqaba port saw a 'record' increase during the first half 2022 by 150%, compared to the same period last year.
In a statement to 'Petra' on Wednesday, Secretary-General of the Jordan Navigation Syndicate (JNS) Mohammad Dalabeeh, said the passenger number during the January-June period 2022 reached 1,12,777, compared to 45k last year.
Dalabeeh said the growing passenger rate is due to resumption of travel activity after the Arab Bridge Maritime Company (ABMC) resumed passenger transport operations last year, after Covid-19 restrictions were eased.
