(MENAFN) Ukraine has attained the state of “maximum militarization” in latest months, in agreement with the nation’s top security official.
Around a million Ukrainians are getting “combat and military” experience in the war with Russia, Alexey Danilov, the ruler of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, said.
“In [four] months, maximum militarization took place instead of demilitarization,” Danilov tweeted on Wednesday.
“Ukraine is rapidly rearming according to NATO standards. Our Defense Forces are constantly accumulating and being saturated with Western weapons and technologies.”
He further wrote that about a million Ukrainians “[are getting] combat and military experience.”
Danilov was actually mentioning an address by Russian Leader Vladimir Putin in late February in which he clarified the rationale for Russia’s military drive. The leader listed the “demilitarization” of Ukraine as one of the goals of the attack in Ukraine.
