Putin joins G20 meeting


(MENAFN) Russian Leader Vladimir Putin will join the next meeting of G20 presidents in Indonesia, but how he does so will rely on the epidemic situation, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday.

A declaration issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry read it got an invitation from Indonesia sent to Putin, and sent initial approval that he will join the meeting in Bali.

“The format of his participation is subject to clarification depending on the development of the situation in the world and the sanitary-epidemiological environment in Southeastern Asia,” the ministry also said.

Last week, the Italian prime minister claimed that the office of Indonesian President Joko Widodo ruled out Putin’s attendance. “President Widodo excludes it. He was categorical: He’s not coming,” Draghi stated, proposing that Putin would enroll through videolink instead.
