Qatar Scientific Club Wins Advanced Positions In 13Th Arab Robotics Championship In Egypt

Sharm El-Sheikh: In a new accomplishment for the Qatar Scientific Club, the club's teams achieved advanced positions in the 13th Arab Robotics Championships held in Sharm El-Sheikh, the Arab Republic of Egypt, during the period from July 1 to 4.

The“ball collector” team won first place in its category, the“sumo competitions” team won the third place, while the“line tracing competitions” team won the best performance cup along with the third place, and the“FLL” team won third place with the best performance cup, amid intense competition between the participating Arab teams from 17 countries, which included about 200 teams from various competitions, to crown the Qatari delegation with the shield of the best participating delegations and the best referee cup.

The Qatar Scientific Club participated in the 13th Arab Robotics Championship, with four teams consisting of 16 participants, which are the ball collector team from Al Wakra Independent Secondary School for Boys, the line tracing team from Hamza Bin Abdul Muttalib Independent Preparatory School for Boys, the sumo team from Qatar Technical Secondary School for Boys, the FLL team from Ahmed Bin Hanbal Independent Secondary School for Boys, the teams that won the first places in the Schools Robot Championship, which was held in May with the support of the Ministry of Sports and Youth.

Administrative and Financial Director of the Qatar Scientific Club and head of the Qatari delegation Fatima Al Mohannadi said that the participating robot knights from the delegation of the State of Qatar were fine ambassadors in this tournament in terms of efficiency and technical level, their commitment to directives, and their deliberate drive to obtain the best results.

She added that she congratulates them for their achievements to be added to the record of Qatari achievements in this field, explaining that these results come as a result of a fruitful cooperation between the Qatari Scientific Club of the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for the benefit of students, as they are the promising future generation. 

For her part, the State of Qatar Representative in the Arab Robotics Association Mariam al Awadhi said that she feels proud of the high sense of responsibility she felt on the part of the teams participating in the tournament, as they were up to the responsibility in representing their country, and despite the intense competition between the teams and the close-tight results, the Qatar Science Club teams were able to compete for the first places. 

The Arab Open Robot Championship is considered the strongest tournament held in the Arab world in the field of robotics since 2008, in which student teams from the age group of six years until the end of the university stage participate, and it is a forum for distinguished minds from the finest youth of the Arab world and is supervised by the Arab Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Association.
