Dugong Rescued In Khor Al Adaid Area: Ministry

Doha: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change announced the rescue of a dugong (sea cow) that was spotted in the Khor Al Adaid area.

Two Qatari environmental activists - Khalifa Omar Saleh Al-Hamidi and Ahmed Saad Al-Fayyadh Al-Khalidi - reported the presence of the dugong, the ministry said in a tweet.

Ministry officials immediately took action and transferred the dugong to the Fuwairit area (sea turtles project) where ponds are equipped for raising young turtles.
