An official of the Taliban's Department of Education in Bamyan province, in central Afghanistan, has been arrested on charges of the crime of adultery. According to local sources, the perpetrator was caught red-handed.

The Intelligence Agency of the Taliban, according to local sources, arrested Bashir Haidari, the official of the education department in Bamyan province in Sadat valley on Sunday night.

The source claims that this official of the Bamyan Department of Education initially promised a young girl a teaching position before making her engage in sexual acts.

Sources claim that Mawlawi Islamuddin Osmani, the head of the education department in Bamyan, who happens to be related to the offender, is attempting to release him from the detention facility managed by the Taliban's intelligence.

The spokesperson for the Taliban's governor in Bamyan also confirmed the arrest. He said,“I cannot confirm that Bashir Haidari was arrested for committing adultery or any other charge, you should contact the intelligence agency for the details.”

While the Taliban boast that corruption in Afghanistan has been completely eradicated, this official of the Bamyan Education Department has been arrested on adultery-related accusations.
