US says not ready for peace meetings amid Russia, Ukraine

(MENAFN) Washington considers it’s too early to talk over peace meetings between Moscow and Kiev since neither side is set for these talks, the National Security Council (NSC) Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby informed Fox News on Sunday.

After receiving a question if US Leader Joe Biden have to “push” Russia and Ukraine towards peace meetings, Kirby claimed instead it was “time for the US to continue to support Ukraine.”
Washington’s aim is to ensure Kiev “gets to determine how victory is decided” in the current war and “on what terms.”

On the words of the senior NSC official “We do not want to see Ukraine defeated by Russia and that is why we are continuing to rush aid and assistance,” noting that the US alone has already sent USD7 billion in aid and help to Ukraine.
