Asian share markets end Monday’s session higher


(MENAFN) Main share exchanges in Asia ended Monday in the green territory apart from Hong Kong.

The Asia Dow, which contains blue-chip firms in the district, gained 16.3 points, or 0.52 percent, to stand at 3,180 at 1036GMT.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 share exchange performed best, increasing 218 points, or 0.84 percent, to 26,154 points.

The Hang Seng, the main for blue-chip shares trading on the Hong Kong share exchange, dropped 29.4 points, or 0.13 percent, to 21,830.

China's Shanghai share Exchange jumped 17.8 points, or 0.53 percent, to end at 3,405 points.

Mainland China as well as Hong Kong have chosen to start a new “Swap Connect” plan after six months, letting mutual access to interest rate swap exchange.

The Indian Sensex main earned 326.8 points, or 0.62 percent, to close the day at 53,235.

The Singapore index witnessed a rise by 24.7 points, or 0.80 percent, to close at 3,120 points.
